Get to know Craig
As a retired business executive and 24-year Orinda resident, I would be privileged to offer my skills to the community where my wife Lisa and I raised our two daughters.
My parents were a strong positive influence and provided a robust example of significant community involvement as the chairman of the local school board, president of the PTA, scout leader and other areas of service. Now that I’m retired, I have the time and desire to give back to the community and apply my broad engineering, business and finance experience to help improve MOFD.
I am experienced in the public sector, having worked with both US and foreign governments on enhancing emergency preparedness utilizing cellular and satellite communications systems. Also, as a member of the Orinda Infrastructure Committee, I demonstrated my ability to add value by introducing a new road construction method that lowers the initial construction costs 15% while increasing the useful life of Orinda’s roads by 50% over previous methods.
I have both been on company boards and reported to a board, giving me an understanding of the personal dynamics and challenges presented by both perspectives. I have a close cousin who is a retired fire captain giving me insights on both sides of the table with respect to operating issues and worker contract negotiations. I grew up helping manage the fire danger on our farm, building fire breaks, and backfires as well as rototilling and trimming trees. This range of experience and exposure would bring a fresh perspective to the MOFD board.
My campaign will be 100% self-funded – no potential conflicts of interest.
I would be honored to represent North Orinda on MOFD’s board, and I would appreciate your vote.
